Reimagining a Safer, Resilient and Stronger Charlotte
Safe & Strong Neighborhoods
Tackling public safety is about more than just policing — it’s about investing in our youth, supporting CMPD, and working strategically with Mecklenburg County and community-centered nonprofits to address the rise in homelessness and the urgent needs of our most vulnerable young people.
I’ve had countless conversations with neighbors, small business owners, and community leaders. People are exhausted — and frankly, disappointed — with the lack of urgency from our elected officials.
Crime has a ripple effect.
It’s not just a public safety issue — it’s a quality-of-life issue and an economic issue. People don’t want to shop, dine, or invest in communities where they don’t feel safe.
It’s time to get serious about this crisis. And when I’m elected to Charlotte City Council, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
I will work to:
- Improve relations with CMPD and the community through town halls, programs, and community policing
- Advocate for additional CMPD coverage throughout the district and ask staff for an update o
- Fund youth programs and violence prevention initiatives
- Advocate for mental health response services and community intervention teams
- Strengthen emergency response infrastructure in growing neighborhoods
- Improve lighting, traffic calming, and pedestrian safety
Smart & Equitable Growth
District 3 is the fastest-growing part of Charlotte — but growth must be strategic, inclusive, and sustainable. I will fight for:
-
Affordable housing near transit, schools, and jobs
-
Responsible zoning that protects neighborhoods while encouraging innovation
-
Infrastructure investments that keep pace with growth — including roads, greenways, sidewalks, and storm water systems
-
Support for local small businesses to thrive in the midst of rising rents and redevelopment
-
Transit improvements that connect all communities
“Growth should never come at the expense of the people who built our community. We deserve development that works for all of us.”
Transparent & Responsive Government
I believe in integral servant leadership — grounded in integrity, accessibility, and action. I will:
- Host regular community town halls and listening sessions (not just during election season)
- Push for greater transparency in budgeting and development decisions
- Ensure language access and cultural inclusion in city communication
- Prioritize constituent services and follow-through a clear system (so
- Advocate for open data and digital tools that empower residents
“Our government should work for us — not behind closed doors. I’ll be the council member who answers your calls, shows up, and fights for what’s right.”
Sustainability & Resilience
With a background in environmental advocacy, climate policy, and renewable energy, I will also prioritize:
- Green development standards and energy-efficient buildings
- Tree canopy preservation in new developments
- Flood mitigation and stormwater upgrades
- Advancing Charlotte’s Climate Action Plan
